I’ve recently become keenly aware of the incredible power of a single word in the English language.
The word: BECAUSE
This has come to my attention as I’ve dialogued with seekers who have been telling me about where they feel stuck, unsuccessful, or fearful about the future.
I hear things like:
- I’m not attracting men because I’m too old.
- No one is registering for my class because I haven’t done the right marketing.
- No one is hiring me because I haven’t worked for three years.
- I can’t sign up for your coaching program because I don’t have the money.
- I can’t get my business off the ground because I have this long standing problem with procrastination.
Sound familiar?
Well, with all due respect and love… you’re wrong.
Your lack of success has nothing to do with the reasons you think you’re stuck. There is always only ONE reason you’re not moving forward. That reason is BELIEF.
Your consciousness creates your reality based upon what you BELIEVE: about yourself, about the world, about the nature of reality. In other words, not only will you manifest only that which you’ll ALLOW yourself to have. You’ll manifest only that which you will ALLOW yourself to believe.
For example, just the other day I experienced the following coach/seeker conversation:
Seeker: “So much is falling into place in my life. After a chapter of so much personal pain, I’m having fun again. I’m in a wonderful relationship! And my business is on the verge of a big break through. I can feel it! But I feel STUCK!
I’ve worked long and hard to get everything in place. I have an administrative team I can count on. I’ve learned what marketing systems really work for my business. I know my products and services are good. I’ve got structures in place to serve people all over the world. I’ve won awards and constantly get incredible feedback from clients. But I just can’t seem to break through the “low numbers.”
Coach: “Well, I seem to remember that you’ve been striving to shift from having you support your business, to having your business support you. Are you sure you BELIEVE in that possibility? Or might you be afraid that if your business really takes off, you’ll be back to working “long and hard” and being the 24/7 machine that drives your business? Thereby throwing you back into surviving instead of thriving?”
Ding, ding, ding!!! She got it. She wasn’t allowing her business to flourish. She started to believe her business wasn’t thriving BECAUSE of x, y, and z. But it was actually BECAUSE she was afraid of what would happen if she were successful, and consequently, a part of her did not want to be successful. Ergo, she was creating the experience of just enough to survive, but not enough to thrive and flourish! That’s how powerful she is.
And that’s how powerful you are!
