In order to become the Ultimate Manifestor of Your Life you must understand the concept of “oneness.”
Oneness is one of those terms that I used to hear all the time without a clue as to its meaning. However, after enough study and contemplation I started to “get it” and for a while now I’ve consistently sought to “be one” with Source. My affirmation is and has been, “Source expresses in me, through me and as me.”
But, you know how you can go through life thinking you understand something and suddenly a crack in your thinking gets big enough to shine the light of understanding on your misunderstanding? Well, last night I was reminded of a defining moment in my life that I call the “As Me” epiphany.
It occurred while I was reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. The crack in my thinking almost split my skull open. I had such a big Aha that I almost fell out of bed.
In her book, Gilbert writes:
“I don’t know how many time Swamiji said it during his lifetime, and I don’t know how many more times my Guru has repeated it since his death, but it seems I have not quite yet absorbed the truth of their most insistent statement:
‘God dwells within you, as you.’
AS you.
If there is one holy truth of this Yoga, that line encapsulates it. God dwells within you as you yourself, exactly the way you are.”
Within those few lines of prose I realized that no matter how much I “thought” I was walking my talk about “oneness,” I wasn’t. An avalanche of epiphanies fell upon me. I realized that I was still thinking and feeling as if God was outside of me. I was thinking that the As Me consciousness was reserved for the prophets that have walked among us. I thought, “Yeah, I’ve grown through To Me, By Me and Through Me stages of spiritual development, but As Me, well, I’m not going to worry about that because that’s for the likes of Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, Guru Mayi…. you know.. .the enlightened ones.
But with Gilbert’s emphatic reinforcement of AS YOU, I realized that I had been missing the boat.
Source expresses as me, right now, exactly as I am. Source is in me. And Source is all that is.
Now you. Try this on for size: Source express AS YOU, right now exactly as you are, exactly as you are. Source is in you. What would it take for you to open up to this understanding? Well… each person’s journey is unique, but I can point you in the right direction: Practice suspending judgment.
The only thing that prevents you from seeing and experience Source in all things is your judgment. As humans we think, if it is good, it is holy. If it is bad, it is not. But the only thing that causes something to be seen as good or bad is our perception of it and the meaning we attach to it.
What do you say? Want to try an experiment? Every time you judge something as good or bad, say to yourself, “It is what it is and I’m open to seeing and experiencing the Divine that is right here, right now.”
What have you got to lose but the illusion of “bad things” outside of you having power over you. Right?
