It’s the first Monday of 2016.
A New Year.
The rumblings are getting louder.
More and more I hear and read that people are fed up with goals.
People are fed up with New Year’s resolutions.
People are done with The Hype.
We feel marketers exploiting the human tendency to want a quick fix.
Our past experiences with short-lived motivation dulls that little inner spark of inspiration that wants to catch fire.
I’ve seen people grasp at a new set of goals and New Year’s resolutions the way they have in the past simply because they didn’t know what else to do.
I’ve also seen many throw the baby out with the bathwater.
“New Year’s resolutions don’t work,” they sigh.
Yet they are left feeling a bit lost.
Instead of stepping firmly into the New Year, rooted in power and possibility, they wander aimlessly, looking up to a cloudy sky, searching for a North Star.
There is another way, you know?
You don’t have to clutch at the old which no longer works.
And you don’t have to resign yourself to feeling lost.
They key lies in understanding the difference between:
WANTING from an incorrect belief in lack – versus –
BEING INSPIRED because our souls are gently pushing upon us.
Our souls have g-r-o-w-n this past year.
Our souls have gotten stronger and wiser.
And our souls want to take this baby (The New You) for a spin!
THAT is what this New Year is about.
How do we let our souls lead the way?
How do we trust where our souls want to take us?
How do we partner our souls in the freshly amped-up power?
We turn within with an attitude of, “I’m game! Let’s do this thing called 2016! Where do yo want to take me?”
And we listen.
We listen to our souls, which speak to us in the language of Essence.
And when we REALLY hear the essence of what we want, THEN the FORM can come!
